The Elbe Cycle Route, one of the most popular long-distance cycle paths in Germany, starts in the Giant Mountains in the north of the Czech Republic and ends after 1220 kilometres in Cuxhaven at the mouth of the Elbe.
Our house is located in Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland. The term Bohemian Switzerland was derived from the name Saxon Switzerland of the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in the 18th century. The term Saxon Switzerland is said to go back to the two Swiss artists Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff, who may have felt reminded of their homeland by the landscape.
Our hotel is adapted to the needs of cycling guests and meets the ADFC quality criteria. In 2017, the Elbe Cycle Path was voted the most popular cycle path in Germany for the thirteenth time in a row.
On the other side of the Elbe in Schmilka there is an organic brewery and organic bakery. Simply transfer to Schmilka by ferry. From Schmilka it goes all the way to Bohemian Switzerland.
